Pistolero's Grail...

Post by Old Ironsights »

I encountered a Grail today...

A SIGNED copy, with a SIGNED personal letter to the first recepient of:

Elmer Keith's "Hell, I Was There" :o  :o

It is in the possession of a local (Torrington) bookstore guy...

He will let it go for the right price...

The Holy Grail is a Patterson Colt with Sam Colt's fingerprints and DNA on it.

That's pretty cool though!

My Dad has a couple letters to my Grandfather from Col. Askins.
They were on the Border Patrol at the same time.

Have you been to the museum at the Woolaroc Ranch near Bartlesville, OK?

They have the worlds top collection of Patterson Colts.

You'd have to ask him. He JUST aquired it and hadn't priced it yet. I don't know book values, but I'm guessing on haggling down from $500...

I have one of those, autographed by Elmer when he was in Dallas on a book promo trip years ago. No letter though, just the book and a handshake. Book is not for sale.

I have the same book signed by keith to me that I ordered many years ago too. Does that make it worth a lot more? I also have a nice large offical white house photo numbered on the back, of president nixon also autographed to a secret service agent. Wonder what that is worth? My aunt rented a store to two "retired"? agents in san clemente to run a flower shop. (Obvisley a front) right after nixon retired. When they left the shop I found the picture to one of them in the trash!
