America, Story of Us = Barf!

Post by L_Kilkenny »

Anyone watched or tried to watch this history channel series? I looked forward to it when they were advertising before airing it but my lord is it bad. They should of titled it "America, the Liberal Story of Us". Their guest comments are a who's who list of Hollywood/Media/Entertainment liberals. I missed the part about the Civil War last night and am probably lucky. I can just imagine how they slaughtered that period of history.

I am an enthusiast of American history, but after watching the segment on the colonial period, I got a big case of the "ho hum". It was my opinion that you had to have studied the history addressed in the segment before you would be able to follow it. Nothing new or interesting, just a boring overview that omitted quite a bit. Voted with my clicker, have not been back.

Dang :( I was looking forward to that, too.... When you re-write history, you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes and failures...

If you'd cancel your cable subscription just think of how many more leverguns you could buy in a year's time.

Then what they show wouldn't bother you.

I watch Military Channel, make sure I have all the kids' channels for my daughter, and have blocked MSNBC on my tuner ever since they interviewed Teriq Aziz, while he was Iraqi Minister of Propaganda, during the opening days of the 2nd Gulf War.

My girlfriend wanted to rent an Alex Baldwin movie last weekend - sorry, I boycott him.

THIS IS NOTHING NEW FOR LIBERAL CONTROLLED NETWORKS. WATCH ANY SHOW CLOSELY (OTHER THAN FNC) AND THERE IS LIBERAL BIAS. AS FAR AS HISTORY CHANNEL, I WATCHED A SHOW NOT LONG AGO THAT ORIGINALLY AIRED IN THE 1990'S. I WAS AMAZED (NOT REALLY) HOW MUCH OF THE EVENTS I HAD FORGOTTEN.
THIS A PERFECT EXAMPLE THAT WE MUST SPEAK OUT AGAINST SUCH OUTRIGHT OPINIONATED CHANGE OF ACTUAL FACTS!! WE MUST ALSO MAKE SURE THAT OUR CHILDREN ARE TAUGHT THE TRUE HISTORY OF EVERYTHING; NOT A PERVERTED PC ATTEMPT TO CHANGE AMERICA!

With my next computer buy, maybe next year, I want to used my 42" LCD TV as the monitor...from what I've seen, I can see about any TV I want on the different sites like HULU, FanCast, and a dozen others that have sprung up....ad NetFlix to that, and it makes pay per view expensive......dropping cable should take about 40% off my ComCast bill

As far as that goes, I think I can use my new Droid as the modem for going online with a computer.....possibilities abound....Tech is getting cheaper.

Nope. I read that this was a liberal/leftist rewrite of our history, so it is banned from being watched in my household.

I discovered last night, HI (history international) is what History Channel used to be (before the UFOs and liberals took it over) - two very good and intelligent shows on the Sahara and Death Valley last evening.

Funny, AMC used to show classic movies, History channel used to show history, and the Weather channel used to show weather.

And MTV used to show music, not that I cared much for it.

The History Channel fell out of favor with me a long time ago. During the day they show some of their old programs, so I go through the guide and set them to record. I do enjoy watching a lot of their specials, though. They've done several Marksman and Sharpshooter shows. They had "Sniper: Inside the Crosshairs" that I enjoyed pretty well. They're doing a new Marksman special, and they had one on the real story of Robin Hood that I enjoyed the other night. It used to be the only channel I watched, but I watch it less and less as time goes on.

There's a couple of those high tech animated American History shows on, and I catch bits and pieces before turning the channel. I saw Al Sharpton expounding on why such and such happened in America and that was enough for me. Before this they had a woman on who was talking about how the dispossessed have nots in Colonial America(women, slaves, homosexuals) waited with baited breath for America Independence, or something to that effect

What get's me in general is that these History/Discovery programs will expound ad nauseum on any and every theory about why the Bible is not true as it is written(especially in relation to Jesus), but will never show any of the vast amount of historical and archaeological evidence that supports what is written in the Bible. When you get down to it, it is the focal point of the liberal/socialist/progressive movement....to oppose those who believe "In the beginning, God created...." Folk's who hold to Judeo-Christian truth are the wall that stands in the way to their "Utopia", aka the same murderous/man made societal soloutions that led us to the Holocausts of the 20th century.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Kinda sad, but history and hollywood have always been a contradiction. I still watch it but I just assume it loosely based in fact.

The History Channel and Discovery used to be my most watched channels. I haven't watched the History Channel in months now.
