Re: Old Hunting Photo
Wish I could read what was printed on the lower left corner of that picture.
At any rate it looks like those two fellows have enough meat to last a while.

I tried to pull the text out, but it's too pixelated for me to work with.
My best guess since it appears to be printed font, is that it's the photographer's trademark.
Great photo.

They won't go hungry, that's for sure.
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.

Why can't I see the picture? Is someone wearing a poncho?
Happiness is a comfortable stump on a sunny south facing mountain.

OTH , have you seen any of Mert Cowley's books. He is from Chetek ,WI and one of his hobbies was collecting old hunting pictures from rummage / garage sales. He has compiled several books with pictures of hunting camps in northern WI. Some of his book titles are, Dawn of Deer Camp , There's daylight in the swamps, Beyond the shadows of the pine. They are chuck full of pictures and lots of leverguns. Scheels in Eau Claire carries his books.

I was raised in wisconsin. Where is Harshaw??
Re: Old Hunting Photo
Harshaw is by Rhinelander. In his books he explained that hunters would take the railroad farther north than roads went . Then an out fitter would pack you in farther. Mert's books only run around $20 and they have a lot of pictures.
Re: Old Hunting Photo
When's the last time a fella was able to hop on a commuter train with his deer rifle and a field-dressed carcass?
In some ways, modern life is not an improvement.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

Re: Old Hunting Photo
I do not know where you guys find these old pictures at. But I would like to say thank you. I really enjoy looking at them. I sure do wish I had some older pictures of my dad in photos like that. As well as other members of the family. Tom.
