Y2K made the middle-school archery team this year, and in late March they won the state tournament in South Carolina, and he is competing at the national tournament this weekend!

Re: OT - Wish Y2K luck
Glad to hear he is still doing great with the bow. I reckon the Batesville team will be there again this year, have not talked to my friend for a while.

Re: OT - Wish Y2K luck
Cool...!
My son now likes his bow shooting so much it's hard to get him out to the rifle range to shoot guns.
I may have to get my old bow out and learn to shoot... (never really shot it much when I got it).

Re: OT - Wish Y2K luck - UPDATE
It was a great event. Y2K didn't have his best day, but he enjoyed going again, and left with his spirits high, vowing to practice more and do better next year. Overall the team did well - top 25 when we left for the long bus ride home - but out of contention for any awards. Not bad for our first appearance as a middle-school team. Of the 24-person team, we brought 20 6th graders, two 7th graders, and two 8th graders. We have a young team. Most of the teams we competed against in the middle-school category were made up almost entirely of 8th graders. Our potential over the next two years is huge.
They had to add another 45 targets this year just to accomodate everyone. There were a total of 345 targets, with two archers per target. Nothing like almost 700 archers shooting at once! They said over the loud speakers that this event broke the record set last year for the largest archery tournament ever. It was so cool!
I'm proud of Y2K. Win, lose, or draw, he's my superstar!!!
