16 months ago I had a lap band put in to control my eating. I was 406 and change before the surgery and diabetic, high blood presssure, and felt crappy. I had a check up yesterday and have crossed the 90 pound lost barrier. I was 316, still along way to go(looking for 220-240) but bp was 128/74 and I am only occasionaly having to use any insulin. The big thing was I have set several short term goals and this one was to weight what I weighed when I graduated High school in 1983. I weighed 318 then, so I did it. Will celebrate the 100 pounds lost(soon) with a double action 4 inch in 44 mag cause I deserve it, when I hit that mark. Thanks for listening and thanks for being a group of guys I'd like to hang with. Tom

Way to go. I lost 40# (325 down to 285) for a while, then I took early retirement and winter set in, have put back on 15#. But now that spring is cracking it should start going the other direction again, doc has me on blood pressure meds (150/70 at last visit) and I use an oral diabetic control tab and feel really good. Keep up the good work and you will really enjoy that 4" shooter.

Thank you all for the kind and supportive responses. I was so happy I was about to bust. It has been a lifelong struggle for me and when I found something that would finally really work I did what they told me too and it is working. I loved food, thought about it all the time. In my family we used food to celebrate a good event in our life, for comfort when something went bad, bored, party, ect.ect. Now I eat because I need to fuel the body more than anything. Doc H if you can get your insurance co to pay for it I heartly recommend it. I will talk to anybody who has questions about it and give the real deal answers. Thank you all and God Bless. My good friend and neighbor has a little girl with about 5 Toms in her life,. so we each ahd a nickname to make it easier to figure out who she was talking about. Mine has always been "fat Tommy(with no malice at all ,we agreed on it together) now she calls me "slightly chunky Tommy"; gotta love kids. Tom
