That's neat!

Didn't Keith mention a mail carrier who had a Luger artillery model with butt-stock?

This is a 1906 german commercial lugar in 7.65 with a ideal shoulder stock I used to own. Would you belive it came from the same area! I bought it 40 years ago from a lockheed engineer that was a early well known pioneer in radar. Col. gary kubasheck. I belive he lived in pasadena! I sold it long ago.

The shape or angle of the Luger grip is regarded as creating one of the best natural pointing handguns ever made.

That belt & holster rig may be all right for carrying..., but i'd hate to have to get in a hurry with it!

You ever look close at one of the luger holsters? Its a two handed operation just to open the lid! They really are a box with a cover and strap. Inside they even have another string to pull to lift the gun! Really you almost think they are a exicution tool for etreminating polish!

I'm wondering if that's not one of the weapons which showed up down around the border when the Germans were in Mexico looking to stir up trouble during that decade. - DixieBoy

The knuckles on that right hand have been busted more than once, or he's got RA bad.

My Uncle Mac had a Luger he got off a German for a carton of Lucky Strikes during the occupation....it was stolen in the seventies when his house was broke into.....

In 1900 some .30 (7.65mm) Luger pistols were submitted to the U.S. military for trial. Initial trials resulted in an order of 1,000 pistols being placed and these continued to be tested until 1908. Around the same time a number of similar pistol were made for commercial sales in the U.S.

Reminds me of Patrick Wayne in "Big Jake". As finicky as Lugers can be I'm surprised he's packing it as a duty piece.
