Loading Trap Door on Ross 92???????
Recently got my 92 Rossi and have noticed that the loading trap door appears to be made of plastic. Not sure I like that.
Seems like it should be steel. Can it be and does it need to be replaed with a steel one? If so, where can I get one?

PLASTIC SPRING COVER!!!!!!!!
Re: Loading Trap Door on Ross 92???????
Do you mean the loading gate aka spring cover (#17)? Just what model 92 do you have? The last two we had through the shop did NOT have plastic there.

grahng,
The exploded drawing you posted is not a Rossi (or any other 92 drawing), it's of a USFA Colt Lightning. A different animal.
I've never seen a Rossi or any 92 with a plastic loading gate, have you put a magnet up against it?
Joe

FWIW I haven't seen a Lightning copy with a plastic loading trap either!

I just had my fingers on my rossi and the loading gate IS metal, but the spring follower is plastic.
Re: Loading Trap Door on Ross 92???????
That teflon statement certainly maybe it. I plan on replacing the spring follower with the stainless steel before I have issues.

The one I handled on Friday, marked Taurus on the tang, had a metal loading gate.
