OT - Bah! Humbug!!!

Post by Ysabel Kid »

Okay, it's nice getting Christmas cards. But I am going to go stark-raving crazy if one more person sends us a Christmas card with "sprinkles" or "glitter" on it!!! Darn things make a mess, and my wife loves leaving them on my desk!!! :(

You must be feeling better. I have a cure to the wife leaving cards on your desk. Just leave it messy and she won't have room to put them. :D :D

After baby # 4 was born, at home, and the mess cleaned up, mom freshened up and tucked in bed, and baby checked out, and tucked in between mom's 'bottles', mom begins to read some cards sent to her for the occasion. About the third card was filled with GLITTER...

All over the clean bedding, all over the new mom's tired self, and IN MY BABY'S EYES...

(...did I say enough "     "'s...?)

Another half hour to tend to the baby, re-bathe her, clean off the bed, clean off the mom, etc.

I always considered those things to be a sub-conscious (or not) "finger in the eye" from somebody who didn't really like me and felt they had to send a card...

I don't like them type either.
Though my wife still likes to send cards out,I keep telling her why not send a nice email(even with attached nice pic if desired) or better yet actually call em and from the heart really talk/wish them well.
(best of all if they live fairly close, go see em,)??????

Years ago I was visiting a old aunt and uncle of mine. It happened to be uncle bill`s brithday. My aunt gave him a brithday card. He looked at it for a secound and said, You cheapskate! Ya gave me this card last year!

Would a response letter filled with baby's first "response" be considered biological warefare (as well as the appropriate gesture...)?

I did that this year. Wrote out a nice letter with several pictures and simply e-mailed it to my list. Saved a ton of postage, and people can save the pictures easier if they want to do so!

I just must be un-loved or something. All we get is standard glitter-free cards. :)

Honestly, I open all envelopes bearing cards or family/friend letters with the same care I would during an anthrax threat... slit with a knife, remove contents in a breeze-free area over a spill-zone (kitchen sink) for easy cleanup.

What's a card? What's a wife? Don't have either so it's not an issue for me.
