OT - Any Hebrew/Aramaic scholars in the group?

Post by Doc Hudson »

I got a somewhat disturbing video from a friend and I'd like to get someone familiar with Aramaic and or Hebrew to take a look and see if the video is shooting the straight dope on translations and wording.

And what is it concerning? Secret? Can we see it?

I can guess but I can't help with it. Most such scholars are working at universities which is a good place to start looking.

I am sure I know the video you are talking about Doc ... someone sent it to me. It's pure horsepucky. If you email or PM me I will share why.

Thanks to translation assistance from KirkD, I am of the opinion that Jim is using extreme restraint in his description of the video.

Don't get me wrong, the only thing Barry O has ever said with which I agree was when he described Kanye West as "He's a jackass."

I detest the man. Even so I believe that there are plenty enough obvious reasons for detestation that there is no reason to cook up additional reasons. I have no intention of posting a link to the video.

Perhaps if we saw said vedio, we could determine for ourselves the credibility of the content...

I am quite satisfied that the video is either fraudulent with intent to stir controversy or simply made using faulty scholarship.

There is not point is spreading slander. There are too many perfectly good reasons to detest Barry O to spread a lie.

 You are hardly going to keep this thing under wraps. It has has been on YouTube for the world to see since sometime around July and is still there.

So, if it's on You Tube no need for Doc to spread it.

Doc, to kill this topic as you appear to wish to do, I'm gonna lock the topic. If you guys want to see the video, you can find it on youtube.
