OT - What I did last night

23 bars of silvery goodness.

Pure lead from roof flashing boots.

I still have about 10# to melt down as well as 200# of wheel weights.

What a pretty sight! I need to do some of that too. I've got about 400# of wheelweights to process.

SWEET ! Just had new tires put on the company truck and the tire shop manager told me she would sell me wheel weights for the same price she gets from the scap yard. But I still have a couple hundred pounds to melt down right now. Scap yard pays $.15 a pound but sells them for $.50 a pound. So I like to cut out the middle man.

Was worried about that subject line for a minute! Good for you. Not to hi-jack this post, but where is the best place to find lead and wheel weights?

I plead the fifth Kid.

As for wheel weights, same as always: Check your local tire shops to see if they'll give or sell them to you, check local recyclers or junkyards to see if they'll sell them to you, scrounge around outside tire shops after hours to pick up what they leave laying around or pick them up off the street at intersections. Believe it or not, I went for a bike ride Tuesday night and came home with about a pound of them.

You could always take a pair of pliers to the office parking lot...

Mrs. YK wouldn't appreciate that - since I work out of my home!

Hmmm. Yes, I could see how that would be problematic.

OTOH, you could tack one or two ON just to be ornery. I've been tempted to do that to someone a time or two.
