Good for?

I don't know but my all time favorite movie is " Once Upon a Time In The West" and
in the opening sceens Woody Strode is packin' one, that has stuck with me since I saw the
movie when i was a kid.

Good for? What is any of this stuff good for?
A little shootin', a little fun! What ever you want it to be!

I wonder if 86er would let anybody do a handgun hunt with one of them? That would be hilarious  especially if they came dressed for the part:

Thanks for the pointer to the review. It's good to hear that Chiappa can make good firearms.

Will you be getting one of their 1886s for review? I didn't know they were making them until I followed the link to Legacy's site. Chiappa's own site doesn't mention them; perhaps they are being made exclusively for Legacy?

For fun...

or to catch outlaws...

I think fun is the most likely use.

The .44-40 version I have here is more accurate off a rest than most conventional handguns I own, and surprisingly viable farther out freestanding than I thought it would be.

It's what I call a Hoot Shooter. As in- it's a hoot to shoot.

I can understand that.

Just yesterday I took a young gun enthusiast friend out and introduced him to shooting a Sterling Mk4 submachine gun. After firing a couple mags with only 7 rds in them to get a feel for trigger control, he was squeezing off doubles, triples and quad bursts on command.

What was even more surprising and to the point, I showed him how to hold the Sterling at waist-level for instinctive shooting, and try shooting three and four shot bursts at a line of empty gallon jugs in front of the 25 yd berm. He emptied two 34 rd magazines at those jugs, totally instinctive, and THOROUGHLY VENTILATED them.

So, yeah, I can see how a 92 "Mare's Leg" could be reasonably effective when instinctive shooting.

Noah
Might as well face it, you're addicted to guns . . .

I shot a small buffalo several times using the sights from a ways out last week with this one.
Surprised me.

I don't think so. It CAN be used at distance, but it's heavier than a conventional handgun, awkward to hold & not easy to keep the sights lined up on target.
Also slower on followup shots.

fantastic fun looking to me...

makes me wish for a laser that mounts in the mag tube plug, along the lines of the guide rod lasers in 1911s... a bright green one would be just right.

Nope, that'd reduce mag capacity, and the only thing I dislike about this thing as it stands is the fact that I have to reload it so much!
Just seems to keep on emptying itself in a hurry, somehow.

Watched your video. No wonder you couldn't hit anything with that gun- you were shooting it with the wrong hand!!!!
