Silverbuzzard, If I remember correcty you said you live near Lake Michigan, so just go down to US 30 head east toward Plymouth, In.......turn south on SR 39 go about 7-8 miles and look for the bright yellow signs that Old Ironsights is putting out. I think Old Iron said he will be there around 0800 central time on Sat 6/13 he is the Range Master and has the keys......will be others there as the day wears on we are scheduled for 6/13 & 6/14 until everyone gets tired and ready to leave....the cook out will be on Sunday 6/14......doesn't look like I'm going to make it until Sunday 6/14 early in the morning....if things change I may be able to roll in late on Saturday 6/13.....looking forward to the meet.

Did you know...

the 9.3x72R loads 65gr 3F (settled & compressed) under a 200 gr bullet?

I guess we'll see how that stands up to 18gr 2400 eh?

Oh that should be fun. :D

5 days left folks. I have been keeping up on the weather so far it will be partly cloudy highs in the 70's lows in the mid 50's but this is Indiana so we shall see who knows it could end up snowing.

Don't forget to bring your squirrely guns and no OI 45-70 don't count. :D

It's 60gr Volume, weighs out at 65gr. Settled into the case by vibratory tumbler, + mayne 5% compression.

I'm picking up the Fire Pit tomorrow or wednesday, and will be doing some site work Fri PM - mostly to try to make the Outhouse a little, er... well, nicer isn't exactly the right word... but I will be working on it anyway...

(sometimes being wildly underemployed is a useful thing...)

If any of you you can spare the truck space, and have any laying around, try to bring some firewood. I will be collecting what I can from the "free wood" spots but more fire is more better...

Don't forget your gas mask and MOPP suit. Yuck!!!!

I need to get by Gander Mt to see if they have any 45-70 brass and LR primers. If they have some I'll have to talk you into bringing some of those 350gr cast bullets with ya. Wounder how much Pyrodex I could squeeze under those pills.

LRPs I got. If Gander has Fed or Win I'll trade you straight across for CCI.

I also have plenty .45-70 Brass, but no .45-70 at the moment. Gotta check on the Goulds. Not sure how many I have cast up, but I AM bringing about 60 already loaded rounds...

I will look and see what they have. Unfortunately they never have any .458 cast bullets only jacketed and I am not sending those down the bore of my roller. If they have some primers and brass it will give me a chance to use my 310 tool out at the camp out.

Well, like I said, if the don't have any of either, I'll be bringing BP EQ loads along anyway, so we can have plenty of brass, and I have plenty of primers.

I'll try to get by there tomorrow and I'll let you know what I find. Did you ever go with a different powder? Last time we were having a heck of a time with your load in your gun and mine.

Yeah, there were 2 issues going on there, with the biggest being Varget & CCI #200 primers.

The 4198 loads didn't give me any problem at the sillouhette range.

If I find some Fed or Win LRP's then we will have to load some up with the Varget to see if that fixes it.

I couldn't decide which 45-70 to bring so I'm bringing both and several different loads. Haven't settled on a favorite
for the Marlin Century. But you're welcome to try mine.

If I can I'll squeeze in some firewood though I'm planning on making off with Blondie's Jeep. More fun but not as
much room as the Durango.

We really should be mowing our yard too. However the stupid mower won't start. darn ingrate, and after I fed it new gas and put a brand new blade on it too. :x

................................................................................................

I'm about 75% ready to pull out. Just gotta finish loading the stuff, I'm tempted to rent a U-haul trailer and just load all my shooters. Picking which ones to bring is a pain in the butt. Wifie will try to get the lunch stuff ready for the cooler, I got to get everything else loaded and hopefully change the oil in the Pathfinder.

Then if all goes according to plans ... ( it never does ) we're planning on pulling out at ODark30 so we can get to the range around 0800 or 0900. I wanna get that Enfield sighted in with it's new sight before JReed gets there. I can't let him out shoot me now can I?

It's been so long since we've done an over nighter I've plum forgot how. I hope our kitties don't hate us. They're getting stuck in the house for 48 hours by themselves.
Oh whatta mess .............. :o

Nice thing about cats if you leave out food and water they dont mind a whole lot when you aren't there. :D

Looking forward to the Enfield fest. It will be the first time mine has been with so many others of the like since the end of the war. I broke down and am taking the wife's MiniVan and the oldest boy decided that camping and shooting sounded good. So I will have lots of room for stuff.

Just came back from the range.

Some tall grass, but not too bad. Ground isn't too wet (sand drains quickly) but the scrap wood pile (what little there is) is saturated. There is some deadfall we can collect, but not enough for a good campfire (fire pit is an 18-wheeler rim)

Did a little repair on the Outhouse, more to do tommorrow AM.

Mostly loaded up. Ammo, tent, stuff is in the Jeep.
Guns go in in the morning.
Sitting here making my "don't forget list" and directions.
Should be pulling out around 0700/0800, puts me there @ noon or so.

Gotta make sure I pull the Betty Boop tire cover off the back of Blondie's Jeep.

looking forward to meeting you guys!!

See ya tomorrow!

If you guys want, pm me your shoe phone numbers. If we need anything I can stop on the way.

Just finished packing everything but the guns.

Got a quick Wally World stop on the way out of town, then I'll be puttering around the site from 8AM CST on... leaving to get forgotten stuff only once someone else shows up.

We're packed up. Gonna take a nap now and head out about daylight maybe.

Not sure when we'll arrive.

See you guys and gal when we get there.
