OT Cobra Derringers
Stumbled across the Cobra Ent. website the other day and
saw that you can order barrel assemblies for $35.00
Settled on a crome 9mm barrel just for kicks.
Looks just like a cap gun I had when I
was a kid.
A little work on the lug with a fine file and
it locked right in.
Loading the rimless 9mm takes a little practice. Not as easy as the .38spl.
I know it's just a mouse gun but it's my favorite pistol to slip
in my pocket for a walk around town.

Re: OT Cobra Derringers
Hmmmm, I've got a Davis Derringer in 32ACP that looks exactly like that except for the finish.
I wonder if the parts would interchange?
You gotta a link for that? I typed in the Cobra International and got something not gun related.

One of my partners just bought one, I can't remember the caliber off hand, but rather small. I'm thinking it was 9mm too.

That's my .22LR Cobra Derringer in the picture. I carry it in my tackle box when I go fishing.
The other guns in the picture are two Ruber Mark Is and my Ruger Bearcat.

Re: OT Cobra Derringers
The other guys beat me to it.
I signed off early last night.
The Boss Lady had plans for me
Think I'm going to order a .22 mag as well.

Can't speak for the quality, but the 9mm semi-auto actually looks pretty decent...edwardyoung wrote:J Miller wrote:Hmmmm, I've got a Davis Derringer in 32ACP that looks exactly like that except for the finish.

Mines the standard one. I was thinking of converting it to 22LR. That 32ACP never did anything but go bang.Old Ironsights wrote:Can't speak for the quality, but the 9mm semi-auto actually looks pretty decent...edwardyoung wrote:J Miller wrote:Hmmmm, I've got a Davis Derringer in 32ACP that looks exactly like that except for the finish.

Re: OT Cobra Derringers
Don't they have side matches for derringers at some CAS events?

Re: OT Cobra Derringers
I have a Davis 32 acp (figured that was the heaviest caliber suitable in such a small package).
By deliberately arranging it to fire the bottom barrel first, it hits where it points. Whatever needs to be shot at also needs to be real close for the top barrel, though.

Re: OT Cobra Derringers
Yep, that's how mine works too. Real accurate across a card table. Any farther though .......20cows wrote:I have a Davis 32 acp (figured that was the heaviest caliber suitable in such a small package).

Re: OT Cobra Derringers
Very neat Jason
I had a Bond Arms in .45 long colt/.410 that I was carring a while, even used it for shooting dove but it was a whole lot larger and a lot heavier, to the point that I found it lacking when compared to my j-frame.
I now have a casull .22 five shot double action .22 with collapsable trigger I use for my small pistol when I'm too lazy to carry the j-frame. I like the idea of those DAVIS/Cobra derringers. I sold a ton of them in my years working in gun shops. .38 was the favorite back then with the .22 being next.

Re: OT Cobra Derringers
The Bond guns are neat and seem to be realy well made but they are huge compared to the
little Cobra guns. Still on my want list though(seems like everything else is too).
Like Joe said. "Across the card table" accuracy but it dissapears in my pocket.
