I'm starting to think about not selling it, but I'll come to my senses once I keep reminding myself it isn't a Marlin.

Here are the condensed details, from the Cody letter......
It originally arrived in the warehouse 12/10/1908 and shipped the next day 12/11/1908.
The original configuration was:
32WS, 24" octagon barrel (unstated, but assumed to be a full mag), plain trigger, checkered stock with pistol grip, and a shotgun buttplate.
It was returned, repaired, and reshipped on 1/18/1909. I can only assume that this was to install the Lyman #21 receiver sight.
It was returned again on 12/16/1909 and reshipped on 12/28/1909, with the following changes:
Changed to a rifle buttplate, 1/2 octagon barrel, 1/2 mag, and a new, probably wanted 3x wood, checkered pistol grip stock.
I guess the original owner wasn't happy, with the original configuration and had some money. All this work was done in a one year period.
