After using a AK and then handling a stg44 I knew the germans had input, in reality they probably
did all the work. danny

VERY INTERESTING. ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING CONVERSATIONS I EVER HAD WAS WITH KALASHNIKOV AND STONER TOGETHER AT THE SHOTSHOW. THE TRANSLATOR WAS SO GOOD EVERYTHING WAS ALMOST SIMULTANEOUS. IT WAS WONDERFUL.

If you look at a model 8 or 81 - Browning's design, you'll see some interesting things too - like the safety for example... and the detachable box mag that the LEO's used. Its not too hard to look at the Browning design and then change it to a gas port/piston driven design - there's a bolt carrier on the Browing gun for example....
Yep. 1902.
So, who did the German's copy? Hmm?

Terry,
I would love to hear about those conversations.

If this was mentioned somewhere forgive me, but look at the folding metal stock design of the German MP40 submachinegun and you will see it also looks like the later ones seen on AK's.
