Seeking Items - Donations for April Levergun Hunt

Post by 86er »

As usual, I am going to host an auction for the April hunt. AmBraCol is working on the possibility of auction software for on-line items. We will also have some items "live" at the hunt. Whatever funds we collect from auction items will go towards this forum. If there are any cash donations we will use some of the money for a good purpose that will be presented by the members present at the hunt. For example - we might buy an Easter dinner for a poor family or purchase a household item for someone in need. Anything extra from cash donations will go to the forum. Let me know if you would like to participate by posting up your thoughts here.

Thanks!

For "heavy" stuff like my Bullets or Tycer's .25ACP stuff... do you want that shipped to you, or held for Drop Shipment?

Seems like Drop Shipment would be better if the recepient isn't going to TX in April...

Just make sure I have at least 3 business days warning... ;)

Are you taking the Bids or how is that working? I'm sure Mike wants to know... ;)

In order to collect on each item and get it out to the recipient here is what we've decided:

Send all items to me prior to the Leverguns Safari in April.

I will ship them to the highest bidder for the amount of bid plus actual shipping cost.

(Buyers may want to consider the shipping costs if bidding for a heavy item or if a bidding war starts and you are paying high dollar for an item).

I can receive PayPal or checks by mail or in-person at the hunt.

Thanks very much!

I'm working on a box or two to send out. Likely ship at the end of the week.
So far I have various boxes of ammo, pistol rugs, hot sauce, some reloading
components but still need to sort out my stuff and see what else I can send.

I will put in an RCBS APS HAND PRIMING TOOL, the one that uses the strips. Strips are avail from CCI pre-loaded or the bid winner will need to get an RCBS strip loader. Hurts my arthritic hands too much to use any more, going to replace it with press mounted APS primer tool. Will get it in the mail some time this week.

Sent out Monday 2/9/09 priority mail to Rockwall. Should see it soon.

Rick, I have had a Smith 4" .45 Colt Mountain Gun and a Ruger Redhawk 4" in the holster. Both revolvers fit well. I am not much of a revolver expert but I do believe the gun you are referencing and the Mountain Gun are identical in size. Perhaps one who knows will chime in. Thanks, 1886.

Joe,

Sent to you this morning via USPS the following:

1 Uncle mikes holster for Smith N frame 5-6 inch barrel

1 leather right hand cross draw for SAA with 5 1/2 barrel, made by our own Travis Morgan

1 Galco leather paddle holster for Sig 220

1 Leather military sling, 1 " width

I BP powder flask for pistols

2 horn powder measures.

1 small, custom sheath knife.

If Paul doesn't get the software up and running we'll take bids by forum on the day before the hunt. Those traveling to the hunt can log-on when they arrive and out bid ya if they want something.

I would like to complain about the above policy. Not sure thats fair for people bidding on items not to have a fair bid process where all can have the same chance of success. Whats the chance the software will be up and running ????

Joe, there's a couple of items I'd like to bid on as well. If you remember from August, I was an "active" participant in the aution (i.e., spent too much money!). If the online software doesn't get up, be sure to leave me your phone number so I can get in a last minute bid for items I really want. LOL

OI, I know you offered up 100 of the bullets. Would you consider doing multiple lots at the winning bid?

The chances are pretty good. :) Right now I've got the other server down - along with over a dozen sites. :( No, I'm not a happy camper right now. Anyway, I've not had a chance to poke around on the new server much (that's where the forum is hosted) and I'm not sure what it will take to set something up here. BUT I can set up something on the old server - once it gets back up and running. Either way, we should have some auction software set up by then. Thanks for y'all's patience. It's been a madhouse 'round our place since before Christmas...

I'll be sending a pair of Midland 2-way radios. I've used them once or twice, they do work good.

I'm not sure how it's going to be handled, but the software's up. We just need to figure out how we're gonna do it. Once we DO figure it out, we'll post the link and instructions, etc.

When I get home from New Jersey count me in for a vintage (pre-takeover) Schrade Old Timer 15 OT with sheath.
