375 win conversion
Am I correct in thinking, swapping my big bore 375 barrel for a 30/30 barrel,I could handload to near .308 levels, since the .375 and .308 run in the same pressure levels? IS THE BRASS GOING TO BE THE WEAK LINK?

If you rebarreled to .307Win you could be real close. The 30-30 case does not have enough capacity. In a truck you'd say, Nah. not enough CC's. Ya gotta have the room to burn the fuel and push the power.

Re: 375 win conversion
The Big Bore came in 307, 356 and 375. One of those barrels will work. I'm not sure if other barrels fit the Big Bore, but it is a '94 so it's possible I guess.
As Pepe says, the 30-30 will NEVER get you to 308 or 307 levels of power, not even in the Big Bore.
Do you have source for these barrels?

Re: 375 win conversion
The threads are smaller on standard 94 barrels and they won't fit a Big Bore receiver. Numrich has 307 barrels for a good price.

If you want a .308, get a .308...

Re: 375 win conversion
Depending on Numrich's price for 307 Barrel, and your ability to do the replacement yourself,or find a reasonably priced g'smith that would seem to be the way to go...With an original winnie 307 Barrel on it, value would go up around $200 here, based on the buying/selling I've been involved in the past 6 Mo.(plenty 375 BB's offered, darn few 307"s ) Nate
Re: 375 win conversion
The big bore thread pitch is different . Also the 375 barrel is the same diameter as the 30-30 barrels, but the 356 and 307 are bigger in diameter. So the barrel band is different and the fore wood would have to filed out some. I think the mag tube is also bigger in diameter or it has a bulge in it so the bigger diameter cartridge can make the corner when loaded.
