Marlin 1894 .38-40
Friend brought in a 1894 Marlin rifle in .38-40, long octagon barrel, hooded front sight, tang peep (looked like the Riflesmith sights), PISTOL GRIP (with that neat little S-shape), and I drooled on it. About 70%. I had no idea he is into old guns until he bought some .348 bullets from us back in December. Neat stuff.
Sincerely,
Hobie

Ah, now guys... Hobie can't be expected to take pictures of every neat old rifle that comes thru the doors of the shop... Whether we think so or not... now if he'd bought the Marlin, his failure would be... near impossible to forgive, but... since it belonged to someone else...

No photos for two reasons. One, I was without my camera and yes, I should take it. Two, I was expediting the NICS for a rifle so that a young man could go kill some coyotes, etc. I'm sure he's out happily shooting today, broken arm and all! I've got to tell you, I really enjoy this job. LOTS of neat old guns, neat old people with neat old stories, and there is comedy as well. Better than any TV show, ever.
BTW, the wood was neat with all the scars of years of honest work. My friend had taken 3 deer with that gun.
