This used to be the 100/150 yd. shooting shed.
another view.
No shooting for a while now.
Even our stout little warming shed was about to crash.
Thanks to The Friends Of The NRA and an emergency grant the damage should be repaired in a couple of months.
Over the Christmas holidays we got 4' of wet snow at the club near Ariel WA (just south of Mt.St.Hellens) This is the worst our club has been hit since the mountain blew it`s top and we were in the Red Zone for 6 months and were not allowed to enter.
This is at the Wolverton Mt. Gun Club, Ariel WA. I am VP. we have
about 230 members.

I'm just a dumb midwesterner, but I hope whoever builds the next one uses a steeper pitch on the roof - even around here, we occasionally get over a foot of snow, and unless you have a very slick metal roof and it slides off, that builds up alot of weight.
Doctors for Sensible Gun Laws "first do no harm" - gun control LAWS lead to far more deaths than 'easy access' ever could.
AJMD429 Yes we will. The trusses that were there were engineered to take more than our heaviest normal snow load but failed as you can see.
We got snow, then freezing rain, then another foot of snow and more rain on top of that. You could walk on top of 3+ feet of snow without hardly making a track. Many buildings in the area lost their roofs.
Our range house burned down the day after I was voted in as a member!

To all commenting on the NRA..... They were helped out by Friends of NRA. This is the local level group that puts on banquets to raise money for non-profit shooting stuff like Women on target, 4H shooting programs, etc.. We raise a lot of money, and if your range needs something, and is open to the public, there's probably plenty of money available.

From the local Friends of NRA we have given out over $500.000 dollars through the NRA State Fund. Projects for ranges are common in the grant requests as are shooting safety programs. It is all facilitated and overseen by the NRA through the reps and the NRA machinery.
