OT: Camo Gun Wrap (temporary & reusable)
OK, I know this isn't as good looking as the Krylon paint jobs by Jeremy (JReed) and others. But for those who are looking to put a temporary camo job on their rifles or shotguns for turkey or predator hunting, you might be interested in this no-mess but effective camo wrap.
It's the "Gun Form" camo gun wrap from Cabela's and is available in a mix of camo patterns. It's basically camo-printed "vet wrap", the same material used to wrap up injured pet or horse legs, as it only sticks to itself and not to hair or wounds -- or to guns.
I usually secure the last wraps with a piece of black electrical tape (not shown in the pix). It goes on so quickly and easily, that I always remove it when I return from the field so I can wipe the gun's finish down. (A buddy of mine failed to do that with a camo gun sock... He left it on all season -- and ruined a nice Remmy 870's finish... )
The wraps work really well on my Greener action * side-by-side shotgun. Here's the Mossy Oak Break-up camo:
And here's the Snow Camo that I got from my daughter for Christmas -- just after we had 26" of new snow:
So if you're looking for temporary camo on a nice piece -- maybe even for a levergun! -- you should check out this camo wrap.
Good huntin'!
And Happy New Year to all!

* OK, I'll admit it is a CZ Bobwhite... This Turkish-made line gets bashed on some internet forums, but mine looks beautiful, handles great, and has been 100% reliable -- always going BANG when I want it to do so... Can't ask for more than that. All in all, it's not a bad entry-level SBS that won't cost an arm or a leg...

Thanks for the information. Looks like a nice alternative to a permanent solution.

Looks like something a guy should carry i the fall! One in each color, so you can adjust to either condition!

Many of the farm stores like Rural King and Tractor Supply sell lots of colors of that wrap, including camoflauge and all sorts of others. Cheaper than our 'medical suppliers' sometimes.

Old No7 That looks great. I have used the cammo tape on a couple of my guns and have always liked it. Here is one of mine with the tape on it.

Thanks Jeremy.
Hey, wait a minute, those look like boots in the bottom of the photo...
Isn't the rule here on LG that if footwear is shown -- it has to be SLIPPERS?!?!

That rule only applies when you dont have combat boots to include in the pic which mine are.Old No7 wrote:Thanks Jeremy.

Old No7 is correct. The flag has been thrown and Jeremy has been assessed a 5 yard penality for illegal footware on the leverguns forum!JReed wrote:That rule only applies when you dont have combat boots to include in the pic which mine are.Old No7 wrote:Thanks Jeremy.

Better make that a 10-yard penality. That looks like the ARMY digital camo pattern!JReed wrote:Old No7 That looks great. I have used the cammo tape on a couple of my guns and have always liked it. Here is one of mine with the tape on it.

That Sir is Marine Corps Desert Cammo thank you very much! Why the nerve to suggest such a notion that I would use Army cammo.Ysabel Kid wrote:Better make that a 10-yard penality. I assume that it is around Halloween because of the Jack-O-Lantern in the backround or.....you need to get a Webster!JReed wrote:That Sir is Marine Corps Desert Cammo thank you very much! Digital camo. And here I thought good ole analog tiger strip looked cool. These youngsters and all their new fangled, high teck toys.

Jeremy, Fallujah 2006, hmm. First trip? My youngest was there when this thing started, and got to go back and clear it out the second time, as well. Hope you can understand why I tease you about the camo. Gave the boy all kinds of grief about his pretty camo clothes.
