Hi all just purchased my first lever gun Henry 22 mag, cant say why I waited so long, have many long rifles and shotguns but I think I am hooked on the lever already.
Re: Newbe
Welcome PP, I'm glad you got a 22mag. In my opinion better than the 17 thingys.
Hows it shoot?

Welcome Pete, don't hang around here too much or you'll get seriously "infected".

Re: Newbe
Welcome to the fire. The .22 magnum is a fine cartridge and like Nath said better than the .17 thingy, the Henry is a fine gun too.
Let us know how it shoots.

At this point...any further resistance would be futile.
Re: Newbe
Welcome to the best there is or ever will be. Now that you have your first lever, you might as well sell off the other bolts etc and get serious. there is no cure so you might as well enjoy the infection.

Re: Newbe
Welcome to the forum Newbe. You're only new here for awhile, and after you hurry and get 20 or 30 more levers you will have questions, and some answers of your own to share. Soon you will be an Oldie.

Welcome to the fire plinkin pete!
.22Mag in a levergun is a good match, nothing I like better than hiking the hills with one.

Welcome aboard! Pull up a stump and sit awhile. You will find that leverguns are like potato chips - hard to have just one. Of course, hanging out with this bunch of miscreants does help stoke that fire!!!

Re: Newbe
Thanks for the warm welcome guys. The Henry is just a start I can tell already, been lokin at 30 30 for bear or maybe 44 mag? The 22 mag shot well right out of the box, love the fact they are manufactured in the good old USA.
All my rifles have scopes, what is the thoughts on putting a scope on lever gun?

Welcome. Great choice of gun to get started with levers. The 22mag is my all time favorite rimfire a bit much for squirrels unless you stick to head shots but it is great for coyotes out to 100 yards.
As to the scope question if your eyes are up to the iron sights then I would stick with them. If you plan on shooting ground squirrels out west then a scope can be a usefull addition. Dont let these old buggers talk you out of what you want its your gun have fun with it.
