New to me Winchester 94 357 Trapper

Post by pharmseller »

I picked her up today:

Not a bad deal at $675, but I have to say the Trapper is even better than the pictures. Spotless! My FFL guy said that it looks unfired and I agreed. Range report to follow.

You'll like it. At 50 yards, mine will put all holes into about a 6-inch area using the same sight picture with any .38 or .357 ammo (bullet weights from 110 to 180 grains), making no sight adjustments for the different fodder. Lots of fun.

Excellent! I'll send you some 360 Dan Wesson brass if you want to load some heavier bullets out to the lands. The 357 Winnys will shoot 38 wadcutters or 180+ grain 357s without hiccoup. I now have 3 Trappers in 357.
Kind regards,
Tycer

Looks like a fine little carbine for the price. The only '94s I see around here are beat up 30-30's with a $700 price tag (they shut the Winchester plant down don't ya know).

Great little gun, and will probably shoot a wide range of ammo without any probems. I have one just like it, and it has always been a fine shooter, and I like it much better after, one of the guys on here made me a filler for the crossbolt safety.

I'd like to find a replacement buttstock to cut down for my 8 year old. Any ideas on where to find a "plug in and go" replacement stock? Doesn't need to be nice, just fit. What a blast it would be for me to shoot my Browning and he gets the Winchester.
