So hows your weather?

Post by Nath »

We are enjoying a cold spell at the moment. Temps hovering just below freezing with rain or sleet and snow for many in the north and east.
I enjoy the cold from a hunting side of things, makes fox hungry and more tempted to a call.
How goes it for you guys?

Not much snow on the ground here, but some promised for tomorrow. Temperatures a few degrees below freezing today but the strong wind is giving us wind chills around 10 degrees F.

We no longer have 'weather' here in the U.S. since the Bush administration caused global warming. Hopefully, we'll return to having actual 'weather' after Obama is installed in office.

Looking for a high of 72 degrees here today with bright sun and only a hint of haze in the air. That's one of the really nice things about SoCal.

I'm out today putting the wire braces on some corner posts I put in the pasture this summer, getting ready to stretch some fence wire soon. I sure like the wood heat in my barn today when I knock off to take a break, darned Kansas wind has ice in it. Rimfire, send up some of that Florida air will you?

Cold! was 37 degrees F this morning and is 52 degrees right now - overcast. This is winter in central Texas. Usually in the lower 60's or 70's for highs and upper 40's 50's for lows.

Feels good though! :)

It has been just below freezing lately. Just a hint of snow here and there. The ground is frozen pretty much everywhere. A little snow cover would be nice to brighten things up and help save hay fields from getting too much frost kill over the winter. There might be a little snow this weekend. Trying to walk quietly in the bush is almost impossible without a little snow. Take care everyone.

Just another beautiful "winter" day in SoCal. About 70° on the coast. Drove home down the Pacific Coast Highway. Saw a couple or Pepperdine co-eds out jogging in short shorts and sports bra tops. Darned, I miss summer. :P :P

That all looks and sounds very nice.

Today it was 114 degrees and 95% humidity. I took an old friend (up from down south) hunting and he collapsed at the 3 mile mark, even though I made him wear and drink from 2 camel baks. To add insult to injury, none of the potential game were silly enough to be moving in that oppressive environment.

There are definitely periods during the year when even the most addicted hunters should stay home (I just can't tell when :D ).

It's been snowing here just about every day for three weeks straight. It's coming down pretty heavy right now and they say a storm is moving in later today. In the bush, it's about 12" deep. I think it's hear to stay for a while.

Huh? Fortunately, I am a happily married man - so she is useless to me. If one was young and single though...

Nath, it has been cold here by local standards (in South Carolina). Low 30's - even high 20's overnight, but getting up into the mid-50's during the day. It was only 36 degrees when we marched in the local Christmas parade Saturday with the Cub Scouts. I used to live in Michigan, and grew up in Indiana, but my blood thinned really quick when I moved down south! This is now COLD to me.

I will contend that 30's and 40's here is worse than 10's and 20's in Michigan. At least up there when it got that cold it it was dry - almost no humidity. Here it tends to stay damp - and the cold just cuts through you to your joints. :(

Do you really think she would "need" to know what to do with them. I'm pretty sure she could convince others to take care of the snow.

Gday all.
Clear and hot about 38 degrees C which is the high 90's F. Low humidity about 20% with the promise of a crackup thunderstorm in the next few hours. Good drinking weather, no good for shooting though, the mirage on the local range has to be seen to be believed. Thats Australia now that summers here. Global warming you ask, aint any hotter than any other December day in the years gone by. In fact years ago it would have been in the 40 degreeC plus range. In winter here we can go to minus 4 C at night, but the days usually will hit 20-22C . We see frost but never snow in this area.
