I have never had this happen but read an article concerning a 3" model 1911 that seemed to have this occur when the shooter "limp wrested" the pistol. Is this common among short barreled pistols that shoot the bigger 45? I haven't had it occur in any 4 or 5 inch models from 9, 40 or 45. Someone tell me more about this?

I should have researched before I spoke. Sorry.Limp wristing requires the shooter to "break" their wrist up right after pulling the trigger. Remember when you were a kid playing like you were shooting with your hand. You would point the finger (barrel) and make a noise (the bang) and then cock your hand up.........like recoil. When you do the same thing with the real gun in your hand, you will take momentum out of the slide's rearward travel.
