OT--62 Pounds Of Factory Ammo
Howdy Dudes,
You know, some friends think NOTHIN' of asking other friends to do things for them. Last night, my buddy Tom, who owns Targetmaster Indoor Firing Range and Gunshop asked me to go in the back room and take home & keep this big box of loose factory ammo that customers drop on the floor or unkowingly eject from their guns. These rounds usually fall out front where it is unsafe to retrieve them. Some have very light firing pin indentations on the primers. Its about a years worth of ammo he gets. Anyway, I near got myself another hernia carrying it out of the store and then I had to SORT it all out. Friends?? Here's the tally. (of course, I did not count them, I have very precise scales)
22 rimfire--2735
22 Shot-----45
22 Magnum---27
25 auto----40
32 auto----61
380 auto---162
9mm.---174
38/357 magnum---226
40 S&W---178
45 Auto---162
30 Carbine---10
.357 Sig.---44
44 Mag.---7
223 Rem.---27
32 S&W Short/Long---42
10 MM.---7
38 S&W--5
35 S&W Auto!!!-----7
44-40---2 rounds of W.R.A.Co. FACTORY BLACK POWDER w/small primers--(these date pre-1900!!!)
2.5 pounds of assorted empty brass------------Have a nice weekend----Sixgun

Some friends can really take you for granted (familiarity breeds contempt).
In the spirit of friendship, when it gets to this time next year I'll risk the hernia. Good for my karma .

So, going by your figures, can we assume that .357 users - on average, have the worst manual dexterity of all handgun shooters?
We can discount the .22's - everybody drops those.

You hit a nerve and started me to think, and from a guy who grew up in the sixties smoking huge amounts of weed, thats not an easy thing to do. (thinking )
Most of this stuff is perfect ammo. I have dropped ammo (say, out plinking somewhere) and will dig for an hour to find a .22 rimfire. A dropped 45-70 with make me get the metal detector. People must have too much money today. ------------Sixgun

Let me guess...
He's at least 3hrs away right?
...and I don't think he even knows it...Walks around with a half-assed grin...If he feels fear, he don't show it. Just rides into hell and back again.

Sixgun Jr., you must be untrustworthy... my son has the combo to my safe... he won't even take HIS guns out of it... AND I NEED THE ROOM! I have 18 Winc 94s that won't fit!
Keeps saying like, "get another safe Dad, let me have this one!"

My father has my combo, because it the same as his. He could have 1 million in cash in the safe and I would still have combo. (MAYBE )

Kid, That is a neat picture. I called my son last night and asked him here he got it. He told me to kiss where the sun don't shine because I did not give him an '86. -----------SixgunYsabel Kid wrote:

Re: OT--62 Pounds Of Factory Ammo
I'll have to do some searching on the net in the next few days. I need to be mailing that out to many of my firearms-friends - as well as a couple of anti's that I unfortunately know!!!
