Summer Vacation: and a few Leverguns

Post by 2ndovc »

We decided to go cheap this summer and spend the the better part of the week at our cabin in PA.

I loaded the Boss Lady, two big teenagers, three big dogs, a boat load of shooting irons, ammo, and other sundries into the Durango and headed for NW PA.

Had perfect weather and a wonderful time. They had to pry me out of there :D !

Here's a couple of our visitors.
This one looked to be about 250# or more.

This little cutie was probably only about 80# or so.

Target Monkeys :D I bought two cases of clay pidgeons, 100' of rope, two .95cent boxes of shower curtian rings and brought along about 1500 rounds of 22lr.
What a blast!! we spent about two hours shooting offhand at those clay birds at about 20 yds. Good practice. We nly stopped because we broke all the shower curtian rings.

Goobers #1&2 Justin(with his 10/22) and Quentin( and his Savage MKII).

Up 'til this year they wouldn't touch anything but a .22 but Justin ( just turned 15) asked what else I brought along.
He tried my Glock but really took a liking to my .45 Colt Blackhawk ( such a good kid :D ).

Time flew by. Sure didn't want to go home but time to get this gypsy operation on the road!
Only picture I could get of Blondie. She didn't have her curling iron, etc so "No Pictures"!! :D

Mckean county.

My Dad bought the place in 1967. Best $2500 he ever spent!

Great write-up, JB!

No offense, but if I were you, I'd put that black Lab on a diet:

Nice pic's, Jason. I'm envious. Good to see someone got away and enjoyed some recreation.

Good times!
Do you hunt bear at the cabin?

I think I'm going to start!!

We've been seeing a bunch in the last five years or so. Before that I think we would see one every couple years.
