I spoke with Jim Taylor this morning.

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

He called me. It was so good to hear his voice.

He is in good spirits.

He is banged up pretty badly but he was walking around yesterday.

He should be going to rehab in the next day or so.

He says that your prayers are working and he really appreciates them.

His C-4 is the worst of it. It was shattered and had to be fused.

It bothered him initially but now if doesn’t hurt so much and he can sit up and stand.

Please keep the prayers coming.

That is great to hear! Thank you Scott for letting us know how Jim is doing.
I've been wondering how he is proceeding with all this.

I guess we can cross Go-Cart off the Christmas list then.

I think that’s a safe bet. Apparently the dang thing rode him through the dirt as he is still picking dirt clods out of his ears.

Great news, prayers continue. Looking forward to his explaining why a guy his age is messing around on go carts. Not that I've ever done anything like that.

Great news. Now to get him healed up. Pray that he can be as close to pain free as possible. Where I work, we contract with a few licensed and registered Pain Management clinics. Some of the patients find a way to deal with the discomfort and do not become addicted to the meds. Some of them are in every 27 days for their 30 day supply as soon as we open. They are OUT!!! And they hurt so bad that being told they must wait their turn causes them to go into instant withdrawal. Those are the ones who we dislike waiting on.

I am sort of lucky. 800 mg Ibuprofen is a miracle drug for me, and morphine is as useless to me as ice cubes in the Antarctic. Was given morphine once in a Hospital. It made the pain worse. 800 mg Ibuprofen is all I need for Dental surgery, and in that Hospital, I begged for Ibuprofen. After 2 hours of screaming in pain, I finally got some. 30 minutes later the pain was coming down. The Doctor was puzzled. Some of us are Zebras despite Doctors being taught that hearing hoofbeats behind them in the pasture means it is just a horse.

I am praying for Jim to be close enough to pain free that he does not need opioids, or even any pain meds. A little discomfort is normal after being banged up, and I do not know it totally pain free is a good thing to ask GOD for yet. Jim might need a few gentle reminders to be careful.
