Finally got around to shooting my new Bulldog Classic a couple of weeks ago and noticed that the barrel was not quite indexed properly, with the result that the front sight was very slightly canted to the right. Last Tuesday I emailed Charter about the issue and they immediately gave me a return authorization and next-day shipping label. They received the bulldog Wednesday, repaired it Friday and shipped it back Monday. UPS delivered it Tuesday. This is first-class, first-rate customer service especially in this day and age.
We all know Charter has had some ups and downs over the years, but I am here to say the current incarnation of this company is setting perhaps the highest bar in the firearms industry for taking care of its peeps.
Oh -- and 7.2 grains of Universal under the Hornady 180-grain XTP in Starline brass shoots very nicely indeed.

I can say my experience with both their customer service and quality of my new Bulldog has been the opposite of yours. I would get into it, but that's for another thread, and I don't want to relive it and ruin my weekend.
I Too am glad they took care of the problem. A few years ago I bought one of Charters .22 revolvers to have a lightweight gun to pack in My fishing gear. It was for a short time terrific and I was very Happy. around 300 rounds it started to misfire and I returned it under warranty. They had it quite a while and I finally e-mailed them and ask them what was up. that got the ball rolling and in a few weeks it came back. It didn't take long and the same issues returned but by this time the warranty expired. I can return it for repair again but have to pay the shipping . when I get it fixed again it will be going down the road. .

Hate to hear that, I've wanted one of those for a vest-pocket chore gun. I did luck into a really good Taurus 617T (two inch,19 ounce seven shot 357) which, with appropriate loads, covers that ground and more.
My only Charters--a couple of Bulldogs and an Undercover--were old Bridgeport guns that shot and ran fine.
People were smarter before the Internet, or imbeciles were harder to notice.
Sarge, When it worked the double action was fast and smooth, the grips fit great. I don't expect much out of an inexpensive gun. but it has to be reliable. This is one I would take to the river and very well may have gotten dunked along with Me.
I's like to say something nice about CA service but I can't. I've never had to use it. I have three CA firearms. An AR-7, Bulldog, and a Southpaw. Of the three only the AR-7 has had any issues. And actually it wasn't the AR-7 it was a couple of aftermarket high capacity magazines.
The Bulldog is a 1978 vintage, so it has some years and quite a few rounds through it. Other than cleaning the only thing I've done to it was put on some rubber grips.
The AR-7 rode around in my Jeep for decades. Always worked, and accounted for innumerable small critters. And once prevented a potential crime.
The Southpaw is by comparison relatively new. I didn't need another 38 spl snubby but being a lefty it was a natural. It gets carried frequently as a backup. Used almost exclusively with a load using a HBWC loaded backward. Yea, I know that's a really old idea, but I've seen what it will do to a coyote.
