Re: Reloading Today
Nice. One of the few IMR powders you can still get easily. Probably my favorite from the IMR line.

... I love poetry, long walks on the beach, and poking dead things with a stick.

What's your avatar picture you standing w a 16" 30-30?
How's the balance for one hander carry, and offhand shooting?
I have yet to hold a M64 20",
also haven't got to compare carrying the M94/64 action w square bottom edged belly versus a '92 or 1886/M71w their Round Bellys

Re: Reloading Today
The 16" trapper length looks mighty attractive for going through a house or in an out the truck without banging into chit
Re: Reloading Today
It's just a Model 94 Trapper .30-30 ... handles easily with one hand or two ... more accurate than I am ... has always worked well for me.348win wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 6:33 pm What's your avatar picture you standing w a 16" 30-30?

Re: Reloading Today
Jim, do you reload and shoot jacketed bullets mostly in your 30-30 Trapper ?
Re: Reloading Today
Yes, for the most part. I have the RCBS 180-FN mold and shot many hundreds of them in my Model 94 Carbine. I have shot quite a few from the Trapper but I like lighter bullets in the Trapper these days. From my Carbine the RCBS cast bullet at 1800 fps was about the most accurate bullet I shot in it.

Re: Reloading Today
I have been working with my 31141 and 28 grains 3031. I get about 1 3/4" at 75 Yards for 3 shots. Not the best shooting I've ever done but it makes a solid working load.
