Could use some prayers. She is at peace now
Penny passed peacefully early this morning, 3-25-20. Thank you, each and every one for all the prayers. She is no longer in pain and is reunited with her husband Bob, and the Lord.
My mother in law has been battling cancer for about 6 years. She was stage 4 when first diagnosed and started treatments. They initially gave her 18 to 24 months. Here we are 6 years later and she's still with us, but now it has progressed to the point that treatments are no longer an option. She needs more care than she was able to get at home, so we moved her in with us two weeks ago. We just want her to live out her final days peacefully and as comfortable as possible. The hospice folks that come regularly are amazing, and we appreciate them so much, but there is only so much they can do. We would appreciate prayers for Penny's comfort and peace.

My prayers are with you. I stopped work and went back to WV from Kalifornia to give my mom her morphine under hospice for her last 4 months. Good luck.

Re: Could use some prayers
Ted, how is Penny doing? How are you and your bride doing? Fresh ones sent.
Re: Could use some prayers
We really appreciate yours, and everyone else's thoughts and prayers, Bill. Penny continues to decline, apparent on almost a daily basis. She needs help with every basic function, and has had very little appetite. She can't communicate verbally anymore. But we do get some smiles out of her when she has visits from her kids, grandkids, and great grand kids especially.Bill in Oregon wrote: ↑Sun Mar 23, 2025 6:41 am Ted, how is Penny doing? My wife has been a trooper though it all, but I know she is both physically and mentally exhausted. I feel like we are down to the final number of days, and the nurse agrees. She has been coming every day, and has been a blessing if for no other reason than giving reassurance that we are doing well and doing all we can for Penny.

Re: Could use some prayers
Ted, so glad you have hospice angels at hand. They make these difficult hours easier to bear. Been through this several times. One nurse, present when my beloved father-in-law passed, made the comment that sometimes the peace at the end is just as big a miracle as the cry at the beginning. Really made me think, at a time when I would have tended to focus completely on the loss.
