Swedish 6.5x55 Primed Brass
Swedish 6.5x55 Primed Brass
I have 500 primed brass cases for the Swede 6.5x55 cartridge. Markings on the brass is AMf at 12 o'clock, 26 at 6 o'clock, 4 at 9 o'clock and 1 at 3 o'clock. I think the brass is Swedish military. Also have an old military ammo crate for it. Pics attached of the crate. Anyone interested in buying all this?
Re: Swedish 6.5x55 Primed Brass
Is it Berdan or Boxer primed?

I don't know. I lucked into the brass and ammo crate as is. Pic attached of the case head.
Re: Swedish 6.5x55 Primed Brass
I've read that it is Berdan primed and reloadable -- but it is "loaded" brass, with a hollow metal cup upside down instead of a bullet. You can see the image of the cup on the drawing on the side of the box (see below). It's commonly called the "6.5 Swedish gallery load" by collectors.
I've never unloaded them, but others have by "using a small pair of pliers to pull the little 'bullet' from the cartridge, dump and dispose of the powder, double check case trim length, chamfer case entry slightly if you wish, and then proceed to work up target or hunting loads like you would do with any Swede primed brass."
Edit to add:
Maybe his supply has already had the cup pulled and powder dumped; otherwise, my comments are correct.

Re: Swedish 6.5x55 Primed Brass
My brass is primed and no projectile of any kind.
Re: Swedish 6.5x55 Primed Brass
What will you take for it? My concern is that the brass maybe Berdan primed and I will only be able to load it once.
Re: Swedish 6.5x55 Primed Brass
Yes it will be berdan primed. I would be interested if cost including shipping is okay. Back in the day used to buy the gallery loads or the wood bullet blanks for a few cents each, then size without decaping pin. Shot good and cost was about the same as for primers.
