Blackwater Falls

Post by wvfarrier »

It was freezing cold, icy and pouring snow but still worth the trip.

Beautiful, but looking at that degree of cold makes me want to take a long, hot shower. 8)

Nice! Thanks for sharing. We have some pretty nice waterfalls here in the Ozark National Forest, that is in some pretty rugged terrain that the hike in will warm you up.

Well, I didn't know about those. We passed through Grafton on US-50 once heading to Winchester (and Taylor's, of course), but it was night and so it would have had to wait until next time regardless.

Played there as a kid with my family in the mid-1950s. Beautiful place.

My father was a tuberculosis doctor at a sanitorium at Hopemont and we kids went to grade school in Terra Alta.

I take it back.....although we did go to Blackwater Falls, we more frequently went to Swallow Falls.
