I wouldn't characterize Coventry as a "little midnight raid." Further, the Israelis don't seem to be into such terror bombing. They put a suitable munition onto their best estimate of military targets. That the military target is beneath civilians is the fault of those targeted.

I think you give the IDF too much credit as a military force. In actuality they are better thought of as the world's best equipped, largest, cleverest terrorist organization. One of their favorite terror tactics is the bombing of schools, hospitals, mosques, and churches as these are magnets for civilians to congregate. No terrorist would be dumb enough to use such places as headquarters or staging grounds because everybody knows those are favorite targets of the Israelis. They bomb them and then tell their captive news media that "there was a terror headquarters under there". Which nobody has believed for the last forty years.

Don't you think it is ironic that 80 years after being considered sub-humans and chased like rats through the streets of Holland by the German Nazis, the Israeli Nazi descendents of those folks are pursuing their own brand of sub-humans through the streets of Gaza (and The West Bank and Lebanon)?

Meanwhile "Terror as a technique of war" has worked for the Israelis one more time. The IDF couldn't push Hezbollah back on the ground but those 2000 lb. bombs (US supplied) dropped from the air induced so much terror into the Lebanese PFC's that Hezbollah has agreed to a cease fire and to move back to create a buffer zone.

The only reason the Israeli terror technique has worked this long is because of the backing of the US. Israel has become a pariah nation in the region and would have been squashed years ago by their disgusted neighbors if not for fear of bringing in the US military. So now we are also a pariah nation in the region and our influence is waning. I don't think we have done Israel any favor by giving them this full backing: their only hope of long-term survival is to make nice and develop friends. Which they may now, after 80 years of being the schoolyard bully, be too late to have a prayer of accomplishing. Not that Netanyahu would attempt such a thing but there are still sane Israelis who realize the precariousness of their situation.

Meanwhile, must be about every other house or apartment in Israel houses at least one active duty or reserve IDF member. And I didn't know it until Iran blew a hole in the street outside their front door last month but the Mossad Headquarters is located in the densest part of Tel Aviv. So under your doctrine isn't the entire country a legitimate military target?

The Israelis are waaay overdue for making friendly with their neighbors. Or at least to cease and desist with the terror tactics.
