Guy I know that has a few 92s, a couple 73s and an early 94 gave me this booklet today.
I just realized it's a 1 of 1000 booklet. Is it valuable- I dunno ?
The book is in very good shape.

Re: Was given a Winchester date book
All the first editions are 1 of 1000 , I have the master book and handbook for 30 years or so. Unfortunatly the serial numbers for the 1894 and maybe others are incorrect. And so far off in some cases quite a few modern made 1894 rifles were sold as antiques . I believe excess of 30,000 number off some years. Madis did a lot of other good research and the master book has good detail photos but just not the 1894 serials.
The correct polishing room records for serial numbers are online at Winchester Collectors Association . Bert Hartman was key to finding these errors . Using Cody ledgers Bert has many listed in his survey on Winchester site and Gunbroker.

For Winchester dates of manufacture only the polishing room records from Cody are the ones to use.

That is interesting about the errors.
I've got the collector site bookmarked.
I never knew of these booklets .

For whatever reason it seemed to really be off with the 1894 model .

I also have one of those, autographed and all. I was unaware of the inaccuracies, good to know. Not sure what they're worth. I picked mine up years ago for something like $5 or $10 at a gun show.
