Dittos Jim. I'm starting to think about a clock liberation group, or a time meme as cogent and precise as the 57 gender modification to the CFRs.

On the order of "clocks have rights, and my clock self-identifies with 09:27 Hrs is lunch time." It can be any time it wants to be, AND at it's preference can remain at 0927, it's safe place, where it is always 0927, and no one can say different, because free time has free choice has choices.

I grew up in central Indiana. We did not change our clocks. Half the years we were on Eastern time and half on "Chicago time", as we called it. Graduated college, took my first job 6 hours north in Michigan, and began the bi-annual changing of the clocks. Hated it from the first. Now, I will admit I really hate losing the hour in spring. But both screw up my body clock and it just gets worse every year. We've been promised this was going to end for years, yet no one does anything. I really don't care whether we keep daylight savings time or standard time, just pick one and stick with it!

I've been saying it for years,
Change the clock by 30 minutes and everybody gets what they want. Daylight a little earlier in the morning and a little later in the evening.

Of course that would play hob with the rest of the world.

And yes there is written legislation sitting on someone's desk for years that has yet to be looked at let alone signed.

It is stupid to pretend it is a different time than it really is.

Instead, if you want to 'adapt', just do what businesses did for YEARS before - have 'summer hours' if you want, where you open close early,or late, or whatever.

Twice each year, Americans are subjected to a pointless time change which serves no other purpose except disrupting their lives. Did you ever consider how many people are injured each year falling off a chair, step-ladder etc. while changing their clocks? By auto accidents involving people distracted by the sun in their eyes, when it wasn't there yesterday? Or the general hindrance to the daily efforts of people who make America work?

No, you did not, because it's not important to you. Your priorities are staying in power, benefitting from your position and passing idiotic laws. So let me put this in terms that align with your priorities.

Until these bi-annual time changes are scrubbed from American history, we elect NO ONE. We re-elect NO ONE. Expect a lot of write-in votes for END DST.

Same problem with cats. I just used old Pavlov's idea and trained them to eat whatever I hit the food dish with a fork. It kind of rings and my last one comes running. Well as fast as a 17 year old cat can run.

Try it, it had her eating at 0700 even with the time change. Although she was a bit ravenous. I wouldn't try to change her schedule in too big a leap.

Just remember the old joke. If you're die with your dog in the house, three weeks later they find the dog dead next to you. Die with your cat in the house and three weeks later the cat has gained weight.

My Sage has learned time by the sound the clock makes! We have a bird clock, every hour is a different bird call. As a puppy she learned that at noon the house finch sang, at 5 is the tufted titmouse so at least she( they) will now wait for the clock to eat- yeah right !

Thanks Gunny. As much as I enjoyed the comparison of congress to clowns and stooges, I changed the suggested write in to 'END DST'. Like a hot fence, it cannot be mistaken for something else. We have to remember we are dealing with people whose base motivations and brain function mimic the barnyard pig.
