Not political but voting advice

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

We have tried to vote for the last three days at our normal polling place but the line was unbelievable!

So this morning we left there and went to the UTSA campus, less than two miles away, and voted with no line at all.

Just FYI

.
We've always voted in-person but early, due to work schedules mostly, and they were busier than usual last week when we voted.

I do worry that the Dems will simply manufacture how ever many they need, but hopefully enough will get caught and stopped that the results will reflect reality.

I'm usually at the polls around 0630 , I've tried to get the #1 vote in my district but the closest I've been was a lowly #2 spot!
Strangely on the FM station we listen to on the job has been having commercials stating that your voting record is now public domain information!? What happened to your vote being anonymous? What right do others have knowing who has or hasn't cast a ballot? The commercial claims the public can't see WHO you voted for just if you did or didn't vote... I don't like it.

This has been one of the most polarizing elections in some time, maybe ever. But it takes something like this to motivate the vast majority of voters. The last time I remember a huge turn out in my state is when we had a proposition to lower and control property taxes.

Prop. 13 as it is called was put on the ballot by the citizens using the initiative process (it basically lets the citizens make laws by bypassing the legislative and executive branches). The politicians seeing the loss of their golden goose tried every crooked trick in the book to stop it. One was to convince renters that they would be paying more taxes than the property owners. Folks back then had a bit more sense. Once it was explained that rents must go up if taxes do the light bulbs went on.

Voted yesterday. 50 people in line when we left, and we were told that the line wrapped around the building on the first day of early voting. Now mind you, my state is not remotely in question, and many of the offices had people running unopposed. Even with that, people seemed to be taking the advice to vote early.

Too bad that there may be many others who "Vote early -- and often!"

Yep. Why do you think MI, PA, and GA are saying they won't have results on election day? They need to figure out how much they need to cheat by first.

Today was the first day of our early voting. I went to the voting location and found a line longer than I've ever had to stand in on election day! I'll try it again after the rush dies off.

Several elections back, my wife & son went to vote in the primary and had to wait in line outside the polling place... finally, one of the polling officials came outside and asked if there were any Democrats in line... there was no waiting for them! Yes, our little county is predominantly Republican.

I would like to encourage everyone to do their due diligence and carefully consider who they vote for in their LOCAL elections. Candidates running at the national and state level are constantly flooding the airwaves on TV and radio. But the vast majority of people know next to NOTHING about the people running for County Commissioner, or Township Trustee, or Township Supervisor. I live in a township where the incumbents keep winning their re-election bids by running as a Republican. But, in fact, they are the most left leaning Democraps that ever walked the face of the earth. They win because people vote straight ticket. Or they vote for the incumbent. I believe the decisions made at the local township, city, and county level impact your life and living often in more ways than the decisions made at the national and state level. And, having friendly leftists in charge at the local level gives the progressives at the national and state level greater freedom to pursue their radical agendas. Do yourself, your family, and your community a favor: Know who you are voting for and why you are voting for them for every choice at the local level.
