Had been looking to pick up an old 22Lr slide action for years and in the LGS I see they have two browning trombones, and also one of their close cousins the Rossi 62 as well. Both the trombones have great innards and ok rifling. One's barrel has lost most of its blueing and stock is a bit beat up but Im thinking of grabbing that one as its 1/3 the price of the other.if I get it, it will see service teaching some younguns to shoot and as backpack gun. Always liked the easy takedown idea of these guns, a few turns of the action screw and they just pull in half
Anyone know much about the Browning and how it compares to its cousins the Winchester 61 and Rossi 62? A while back I was hunting for a Rossi 62 and did some research on Rossi vs Winchester versions but never considered the Browining before this. It felt lighter and sleeker in the hands than the Rossi 62.

No idea on the pump guns. But if ityas well made and handles anything like my Browning semiautomatic.22 I'd say go for it (and now to enable) buy both.
The Browning .22 semiautomatic is the best .22 semiautomatic ever made. It's like an extension of oneself.

Last trombone I saw was over $1K on gunbroker. And it had finish issues.
Re: Browning Trombone 22LR
Rossi has a 22 wmr pump for reasonably cheap, but i read a couple of awful reviews. Don't know if I believe them. the Henry 22 mag has an octagonal barrel and a life time warranty, but a couple + bills more expensive. The Rossi is lighter and maybe handier for me, but IDK. the rossi is assembled with sheetrock type screws, but i sort of like it.
is anyone able to add info to these two ? preferences good or bad experiences ?
thanks

Re: Browning Trombone 22LR
I have used a Browning trombone.22lr and it was accurate and smooth, if I was in the market for a pump action rimfire the Browning would be my first choice.
