So, the three biggest gun control laws of the last century were the Gun Control Acts of 1934 and 1968, and the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994.

The immediate or proximate drivers of each were:

GCA 1934: Organized crime (gang) violence, primarily in Chicago
GCA 1968: Assassinations (JFK, MLK, RFK)
AWB 1994: School shootings

What is happening now?

Massive influx of South American criminal trans-national gangs and drugs setting up for open gang warfare in Chicago.
Two assassination attempts on President Trump.
First school shooting in a year this month.

I'm not a conspiracy theory guy, but it sure as heck looks like Big Brother is setting things up so they can pass horrendous gun control should their brainless lackey get elected (not the senile one forced out, the truly dumb one).
