Ammo advice....from a potential NRA board member...

Fairly routine comments on ammo 'stockpiling' but the commenter (Dick Fairburn) seems to be a decent guy and worth voting for.

We had a decent NRA for awhile, then lost it in part due toember apathy, but maybe it can be rehabilitated with guys like this.

One FUNDAMENTAL issue with human governance is that by definition, there are two groups of people who exist from a political standpoint; those who 'just want to be left alone', and those who are among the 'self-anointed'. The former tend to stay out of politics, hoping that if they don't tell their neighbor what to do, or if they are willing to be held accountable for their personal failings, in exchange for being 'allowed' to reap the successes of their efforts, that those in power will do likewise. BUT the reality is the other group, the Anointed, are always trying to gain power and control over others. They never stop, and they never really 'compromise' - all they do is to settle for seizing less than they originally sought to seize.

Sadly the leave-me-alone crowd lives in fantasy-land just as much as the Anointed crowd... They assume that they can let things go all to pieces, then dig up their buried guns and take back their nation in some Red Dawn scenario. But by then the society has been so propagandized and is so scared of freedom, that they cannot be 'freed' because they do not even know what freedom(or responsibility) is.

We have to hold our nose and participate politically, or through pro-gun organizations, and we have to spend sometime not just watching hunting videos, or even just going hunting with the grandkids - we have to EDUCATE them politically as well. Young people are simply not being taught history at all, and they have not read the classics that we assume they should have read in high school, even by the time they graduate college...!
