Bongino said to politely refuse.

Ask if you are free to leave, and if they say ‘yes’ then leave or shut the door. If they say ‘no’ then you are in Miranda territory, and don’t have to answer any questions without legal representation.

Sad that the Democrats have so corrupted government that many alphabet agents are more interested in satisfying politically-motivated quotas of non-violent ‘violations’ than in actually getting violent criminals off the street.

You feel compelled to ‘cooperate’ and help LEGITIMATE law enforcement activities, and in theory catching straw-purchasers by double-checking multiple-transactions is a good thing, but remember that the entire foundation of ‘gun control’ is a perversion of the law, in that it focuses on who has what hardware, rather than what they do with it. The same prosecutors who put violent criminals back on the street in order to prove that they are woke and inclusive will not hesitate to throw the book at someone for possessing some kind of firearms contraband that isn’t hurting anyone. They make it a federal crime, literally, to possess certain objects without the express permission and registration with the federal government, and of course if we want to stay out of jail we’re not going to violate those laws, however aggressive enforcement of those kind of laws can never compensate for the fact that the government has spent the past few decades no longer keeping violent criminals off the street.

On the one hand I feel sorry for law enforcement officers with legitimate good intent who are trying to work with in a corrupt system to do the best they can to keep the streets safe, but on the other hand sometimes it doesn’t feel like they are pushing back against their administrative superiors or the politicians very hard.

Kind of like the doctors who are happy to get rich off the current bloated insurance-based healthcare system. They may have good intent to some degree, but it gets hard to maintain respect for them when you don’t see them pushing back to keep the system honest.

A few arrests of the Federal Agents by Local Police Departments would probably help.

What bothers me is the way they said "...If you have them, I’m out of here. That’s how quick it is...."

Obviously, the implication is that if you don't show them, they are not going to leave, or they are going to return. Would they then claim to have some sort of 'probable cause' because the citizen didn't voluntarily show them something he didn't have to show them in the first place...?

And of course aside from all that is the brutal reality that if you anger them they can just make something up, plant evidence, or sick so many alphabet agencies on you that you and your family are bankrupted.

Honest citizens shouldn't have to be afraid of legitimate government.
