.
The killer disobeyed the "gun free zone" sign - but fortunately, so did one of the potential victims....

Good for the 22 year old. Now, I hope he has a supportive family who can help him deal with the media coverage and the backlash he is sure to receive from the Leftists and Democrat-Icks.

I generally ignore such signs unless I know that I need to go through a metal detector.

+1

Actually, I try not to patronize any company that wants to deprive me of my right to defend myself, my loved ones and innocents around me - and I let them know why they lost my business.

I doubt we see a ton about this in the press. Had they know up front that the shooter was stopped by "a good guy with a gun", they would have never run the story at all. Doesn't fit their narrative...

That is key. Just like with a child, if you punish them you need to let them know why or the behavior won't change. Merely refusing to patronize a business doesn't change the behavior unless you communicate to them why you are doing that.

The other side can help too, if you switch your business to another place, sometimes it can be appropriate to let them know you are switching to them because they are not anti-gun. I've done that with a couple of banks over the years, letting them know that if they expect my wife or my employees to come there to make a deposit without being armed, I consider that hostile.

Good point Doc. We need to not only punish those against our rights, but reward those for them (or at least neutral) - and LET THEM KNOW WHY. Nothing catches a company's attention faster than the bottom line...
