I am concerned in Texas (Constitutional Carry)

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

Dan Patrick says that he does not have the votes in the Senate to pass this.

I say, make them vote so we know who we need to throw out of office!

.
Agreed. In my mind there are two issues.

One, as you mention, those legislators who do not support enhancing the liberties of the People of Texas.

And two, those legislators and People who do not understand the legislation sufficiently to support it.

Open, or concealed?
Unbelievably, Washington State still has constitutional open carry without permit....I don't think that will last much longer, though....the whole bleedin' country is going backward.

Texas currently has concealed and open carry with a License to Carry (LTC).

The issue currently before the legislature is Constitutional Carry.

They are not bringing it to a vote. That way we don't know how anyone would vote.

I'm burning up the phone lines. It is HB 1927.

Allen West is strongly in support. See the link.

Texas Senate has passed the bill for Constitutional Carry . It goes now, I think, to the Govs desk who has stated he will sign it. Texas is headed in the right direction here, Abbott is the best Gov. I can recall as regards gun rights.

Great news! Yes, Governor Abbott is a good Governor. He is on record as saying he will sign the bill into law. So far, my opinion of him is that he is honest and that he wants the best for Texas.

Last night the Texas Senate passed the bill.

Now the bill goes to reconcilliation with the House version, but it looks like we will get Constitutional Carry in Texas. That will make Texas the 21st state to get constitutional carry.
