I have heard from people who have been to Bryce canyon that it is spectacular....🌵 missed it on my trip to the South West.

Congratulations on the win GK. No fair you don't get a prize. I'll send you my 1873 SRC. :D

Hey! Pretty girl. You seriously don't know who it is?

Had a bunch of work out to the middle kids place the last couple days.
Dad is digging out Old Red today. He's been chomping at the bit.

gk, a fine win and a very generous step up to the plate by Old Win on an Old Win prize!

Now there it was in the Bryce gift shop, a call to action and possibly a clue to inspire the continued search for the Jay Bird, many photos and videos to attest. I suspect Six has gone under cover on the Colt Collectors forum with a code name. I think I am a member with a different alias. I will have to head on over to reconnoiter.

Yes that's quite a handsome hat....

Jay is indeed very generous, however with his Buffalo coat he will no doubt soon pick up a replacement.....

I think the Colt Collectors thing may be a red herring, I'm heading to the Rossi Collectors to see if he's there...may even find Jay Bird.

Ha! The coat is how I got it in the first place. :D
I've had it twenty years or so. I actually bought it though.
I bought the 73 SRC, an 1892 rifle half magazine takedown, and an 1892 SRC. All three in 38-40. I also swapped a Colt Officers 45 (that I had coerced the same guy out of) for a Colt LW Commander that I still carry today (and am wearing as I type this). I bought them from a friend at work. My son rode over with me one evening and we got them. I paid for all three less than what either the 92 rifle or 73 carbine are worth now.

Help! Now I have to remember stuff! I have my phone setup to recognize my thumbprint instead of passwords….well lastnight I burned my thumb on a piece of sprue while casting. I now have a big old blister in the middle of my thumbprint which the phone won’t recognize. I haven’t had to remember passwords for a couple years. I am currently locked out of my bank, and my credit card payment system. AARrrggh

OW you have been a serious collector for some time. Listening to the Jersey Boys “Save it for Me”.

Sad news Bobby Rydell died yesterday. Singing Volare now on the radio.

gk, of course, a closet Rossi collector that explains all the illusion and deflection.

Nice when you can get a deal like that ...

I think the reason 73s have my attention is one Christmas about 1950 something, my Mom and Dad bought me a cap rifle, I didn't know at the time but it was a dead ringer for a 73 Winchester, even had the Winchester logo on the receiver, sadly it was only plastic.... :(
I did eventually get a Uberti 73 SRC but it was a beat up .22lr. Shirley got her first rabbit with it :D I let it go for another 9422m which I haven't got now either.

Alive and well 45.....but......ownership of Jay Bird has been transferred to the criminals....Jay Bird's title and birth certificate have been unscrupulously forged and retitled by a Nigerian diplomat residing in the communist state of Kalifornia.

Be patient...Jay Bird WILL come home and until righteousness prevails all normal conversation is kept under lock and key!

There's only a few days left as Jay Bird does not have his medicine to keep him cheery, healthy, and alert.

Ain't it something as minuscule as a low level theft can result into a full blown war.....much the way WW1 started.

There's already a line of decent knowledgable patriots who have joined the refugee line into the unknown hazards of foreign forums.

I'm holding hard for you guys....any help is appreciated......if you find yourself wanting to help, just donate to the UNCF....---00

I did, yes.
I used to see 1911 G10 grips that had this Crusader dude standing in armor with a huge broadsword. Always thought they were kinda cool.
Couple buddies here at work were Marines back in the 80s. One of em shot on the MC rifle team with Carlos Hathcocks son.
When 911 happened, they ran outta here to go fight, and they weren't young. Randy just retired last year. Ronnie (the rifle team guy) was gone for a couple tours.
But Randy......? This guy was a crusader. He was gone for several years. He hated those ragheads like you can't imagine, and wanted to kill every last one. I always meant to ask him if he had a 1911. I would get him thise grips. When he came back, he was on another shift in another building, so I rarely saw him. Good guy.

As I understand it there are on both sides of the pond a growing band of followers of Odin, now he believes in alcohol and violence and I'm sorely tempted to join... :o plus a Viking long boat would make for a more comfortable trip across the water.

I'm hoping to start reloading for the .410, if I can get the makings I will use some loads that work well for Gunny.... :D

Mine says an early one and except for the receiver and the barrel is all GI.....they have long since ran out of parts they bought from the army.

On the bipod (Hickok didn't know this) when you pull the legs towards the barrel, you have to push forward and that will lock it in. This way, it don't fall down.

Mine could very well be the only one in the country that has a scope on it....was around 5 to have a custom mount made.

I don't do none of that stupid 10 yard shooting......with the right bullet seated out I can hit clay birds on the bank out to 547 yards, the longest I've tested it out....even used it a few times in our long range matches finishing in the top 10-15% against guys with 3-5k match guns in 6.5 Creedmore.........I now have around 800 rounds out of it, most all shooting for score or metal.

Price really jumped on these.....running around 6 with scalpels commanding up to 8....

Very weird..very....that clumsy rattle bi pod? With it on the gun is MOA to 500 meter....with it off, its 2-3 MOA....

Hey! Your famous.

I have a buddy with a new in the wrap BAR barrel. It is a Winchester with a 1918 date code. That would bring good money in the right place.

Jayster....I bet that barrel is worth 1500-2000....like...GFO I used to say......(go find one). When I was hanging out a lot at Targetmaster and pricing the very high dollar collectible guns I would have the guy who made the price tags write GFO on them.....and when a potential customer would ask what that meant the salesman would say, " Go find one". Many times that sealed the deal......and THATS just a small reason out of many how that giant funnel in the sky would drop those nice guns at my doorstep.

When you see the guy ask him for yourself, CAN I HAVE IT! Offer him 5.....owners of full auto BARS are always in the market for something like that and with class 3 BAR's going for 40-50 big ones, that barrels would be an easy sale for 20-25 c notes.
