FS: Burns B3 Deluxe Theremin

Post by Bill in Oregon »

No, not a misspelling. The Theremin was invented by a Russian named Leon Theramin in 1920. It consists of two antennas that sense the position of the player's hands, which control amplitude and frequency. If you have ever watched classic 1950s SciFi B-movies, you have heard the weirdly eerie sounds of a Theremin many, many times.
IT is considered a very difficult instrument to play well, but anyone can have fun making Outer Limits sounds with a Theremin in a few minutes' time.
This one includes the power cord and an amp cord. You'll need your own amplifier or speaker system to plug it into to hear the sound.
You, too, can amaze your friends and give small children nightmares with this one for $125 shipped.

8) If you remember Captain Kangaroo, he had a guy that played this on the show a few times.

Blaine, I watched my share of Captain Kangaroo, but don't recall a Theremin. Getting old ... :(

That’s cool. I’ve played with them a bit. Moog is here in Asheville.
Kind regards,

Hi Bill:

Very interesting and cool instrument!

If you don't find a buyer on here, PM me and I can share some ideas with you, or possibly even help you sell it if you want. I have some connections who just might be interested in picking one up.

Dang, my "self" just ain't listening...

And now I keep thinking -- OK, where do I mount it ? ? ?

1,300 watts of sound per side ought to make that thing SING!!!
