Over four miles (but took 69 tries)

Still pretty amazing.

7,774 Yards: New World Record Rifle Shot Set in Wyoming | MeatEater Hunting

8" at that range is tiny, and even then doesn't equate to the geometric equivalent of 0.001" at 100 yards due to 24 seconds of flight-time and multiple and changing environments in the intervening distance.

I'm sure it would take me at least that many shots to even hit center on a tenth of an inch at 100 yards, much less a thousandth.

That is amazing. So many variables, including heartbeat could affect it.

With all the sophisticated equipment, and all the finely-honed skills -- still, no one can say how much a part luck played. Might have been a very, very small part -- or the whole thing.
