The .357 Levergun ..
The most accurate of the loads was #1 - 125 gr. Speer JHP with 22 gr. H110 and #2 - 158 gr. SWC with 8 gr. Unique.
By the time I got done testing all those loads it was past 11 and getting close to 95 degrees and awfully high humidity. I packed up and came home without shooting the Levergun!! That will be next time.
BUT .. THANK GOD IT IS RAINING NOW!!
and a Rossi Model 971
I bought this from a friend over 20 years ago and have never shot it much. Basically a Model 19 Smith made in Brazil. I ran 4 different loads through it this morning .. 158 gr. SWC with 8 gr. Unique .... 160 gr. RNFP with 14.5 gr 2400 ... 125 gr. Speer JHP with 17.5 gr. 2400 and 125 gr. Speer JHP with 22 gr. H110. The 125 gr. load with 17.5 gr. 2400 had the most felt recoil of all of them. It hammered my hand!I took 2 Rossi's to the Range this morning.

Even though they usually aren't as nice looking, that kind of weather is the reason I am glad some of my firearms are stainless with synthetic stocks.

Shoot the levergun.
Re: I took 2 Rossi's to the Range this morning.
21 - 22 gr of H110 and 125gr Jacketed bullets seems to be an accurate load in a lot of guns
During a prior "shortage" I bought 3,000 bulk Win 125gr JHPs. Been a while, but ended up with 21.5gr of H110, Win Small Pistol Mag primer. 16" stainless Rossi M92 and a 5.5" Freedom Arms Model 97. The FA97 target shows Horn XTP, Speer Gold Dot and Bulk WW 125gr JHPs all with 21.5gr H110 and WSPM primers.

Don't have a picture of the 16" Rossi but do have one of the FA97

Never chronoed any of the above. Buf Bore 180gr LFN thru Labradar at 60 deg F chroned 1894 fps from the 16" rossi.

Nice shooting, Paul105!
I have a 5 1/2" model 97 in .45 Colt. Love it! Couple of model 83s as well. Wonderful guns.
