Sxp!

Post by Nath »

Yep, visiting my local I got access to the extensive armoury that is brimming with all manner of shotguns and rifles.
I started looking at the auto shotguns and then the pumps.
It was then that I happened on a little used Winchester sxp with a 26" barrel and it shouldered spot on all the time. Mounting the gun several times with my eyes shut on an imaginary bird on opening the eyes had the barrel lined up perfectly!
So I asked my friend and store keeper if I could try it and if he had a more open choke than the full screwed in it and he found a cylinder #1 or as we say 1/4 choke.
After a few misses I got dialed into the trigger and started connecting.
16 birds for 23 cartridges.
I really like it.

Nath, that SXP is supposed to have a very fast and smooth pump action. Looks like it fits you!

I had one of those. Really liked it. Loaned it to a friend and instead of giving it back, he handed me a wad of cash. He liked it even better. :D

Some say they suffer with ejection.
My old 1300 never did.
Anyone heard of this?
Thanks for the comments.

Had another session after work
44 birds but I shot poor today for some unknown reason.
The action has slicked up now, I knew it had done very little and was tight but all of a sudden today it started to eject itself like the Winchester action does leaving the operator to just close the action.
