Something has been stealing eggs and eating them ..

leaving the shell pieces in a pile. Last night we set the trap with a single egg in it. This morning there was a young possum in the trap. He had his last meal. The Ruger Bearcat Shopkeeper is no longer virgin.

Walking past the chicken pen I saw this ..

Possums are omnivores. Not much is off the menu for them. A couple of years ago, one was in my yard at night eating persimmons. The dogs were afraid of it. I took a pellet gun out and made sure it had a couple of pellets in its chest before it got away. Not sure what happened to it afterwards.
