Thanks Jim!

Anyone know of any downside to using magnum percussion caps for real black powder?

I have used them for both black powder and substitutes worked fine for me.
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

Thanks Jim. It is however a little far for me.

The store yesterday had none, no large rifle primers or lead shot. I don't know what the world is coming to.

I have a pretty good idea what it's coming to but I refrain from using language like that on a forum visited by females and younger folks.

It's nuts! I haven't needed percussion caps in a while but it seems in my restocking of supplies during a period of political calm, I only bought large primers. Last week I bought a box each of small rifle and small pistol and the tally was over $200! Unbelievable. I'm used to them being $30-$35 a box.

I bought a couple tins yesterday at a SW Ohio Walmart. I’d not seen any in quite a while

I was in the "buy them whenever you find them on sale" mode for years just to stock up. Like most I'm now in the "buy them when you find them - period" mode, and haven't seen any in any local stores for 2 years now.
