Mr. Taylor's post about 1911s; haven't had mine out in awhile

Post by 2ndovc »

I had another ins. claim in NW Penn. and took some .45s along for the trip. Didn't put anything on paper, just had some fun burning some powder. I've been a little obsessed with revolvers lately, had to get some old favorites out.

We leave several cans of soup, veggies, etc. at the place incase someone gets stuck for an extended stay due to weather or some unseen event.
Anyway, since the cabin is unheated most of the time the cans rust up fairly quickly and get rotated out. I set several out and blasted them with the .45s and saved a bigger one for the Winchester. One shot from the .30-'06 SRC and the thing just exploded. I know I didn't find all pieces of the can. :D

Just a couple shooter pictures and the obligatory photo of my travel companion. :D

My apologies. :D
Old habit. Even in my 50s, my dad will give me grief for not using Mr. or Mrs. when speaking to someone I don't know, or don't know well.

That's some quality time, Jason, and you had your pup with you. How does it get better? 8)

Probably having my pretty blonde lady along, but she was slaving away at the bank. Poor girl. :D

Sooo... incredibly jealous. I was in Atlanta yesterday on business. Started feeling poorly on the drive down (which went from the usual 4 hours to 6 hours due to traffic  ) Good news is it is not COVID. Bad news is it is a sinus infection and maybe bronchitis. I'd really rather be shooting and hanging out with the dogs :D :D :D

We're visiting our oldest son. He dug out some 45 ACP ammo for a gun he no longer has and handed it to me to burn in the JQ SR1911. Looking forward to a range trip in a couple of weeks. Still haven't had time to shoot the pistol much, hope to correct that soon.

Totally understand! And yet, I still find that at 71, being called "sir" is disconcerting!

Thanks Scott, I love that carbine.

Heading up again soon, I have another claim about halfway there. Getting paid for half the drive works out nicely.
Planning to take the 10mm&.40s. Spent some time loading yesterday. I'll take along something classy for a long gun. :D
